About The Research Frontline – Journal (TRF-J)

In an age marked by rapid political, economic, technological, and social transformations, the role of rigorous, timely, and accessible scholarship has become more critical than ever. The Research Frontline – Journal (TRF-J) is conceived as a response to this evolving intellectual and civic imperative. It seeks to bridge the enduring gap between academic research, and informed public discourse by fostering critical inquiry, interdisciplinary dialogue, and policy-relevant scholarship.

The Research Frontline – Journal (TRF-J) is a peer-reviewed, quarterly, online, and open-access academic journal, under aegis of CDFA Research Foundation, New Delhi, published by the Allahabad Academic Press, Prayagraj. The journal provides an inclusive and credible platform for academics, independent researchers, policy practitioners, early-career scholars, and public intellectuals to engage with contemporary issues of governance, economy, culture, society, and global affairs through high-quality research and analytical writing.

At its core, TRF-J is committed to addressing persistent structural gaps within India’s research and policy ecosystem. Many existing academic journals remain constrained by high article processing charges (APCs), limited thematic scope, or prolonged publication timelines that often diminish the contemporary relevance of scholarly work. TRF-J aspires to counter these challenges by maintaining rigorous peer-review standards, ensuring transparent and efficient editorial processes, and promoting free and unrestricted access to knowledge that carries both scholarly merit and public value.

Reflecting its multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary vision, The Research Frontline – Journal welcomes original and unpublished contributions across a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Theme-Based Research Papers:
Peer-reviewed articles responding to specific Calls for Papers (CFPs) that address contemporary themes of academic and policy relevance.

Peer Review and Editorial Process

All submissions to TRF-J undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic rigor, originality, ethical integrity, and relevance. Selected manuscripts are further refined through a structured editorial process aimed at enhancing clarity, coherence, and scholarly contribution, without compromising the author’s intellectual autonomy.

Publication Model

The Research Frontline – Journal publishes quarterly issues and follows an online-first, open-access publication model. To ensure timely dissemination of research, TRF-J aims to adopt a continuous publication approach, wherein accepted papers are published individually as soon as they complete the review and editorial process, and are later collated into the respective issue.

This model ensures:

  • Faster publication timelines

  • Enhanced visibility for authors

  • Immediate access for readers and researchers

Open Access and Licensing

TRF-J is firmly committed to the principles of open knowledge and academic accessibility. All published content is freely available to readers without subscription barriers. The journal operates under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) International License, allowing authors to retain copyright while enabling broad dissemination and citation of their work with proper attribution.

Vision and Mission

With a strong emphasis on critical thinking, inclusivity, and public relevance, The Research Frontline – Journal envisions itself not merely as a repository of academic research, but as a forum of ideas, a meeting ground for scholars, practitioners, and policy thinkers committed to shaping an informed, equitable, and forward-looking society.

Ultimately, TRF-J aims to emerge as a credible and influential voice in contemporary academic and policy discourse, nurturing young scholars, encouraging independent research, and contributing meaningfully to debates that define India’s and the world’s present and future.
